PRO-LIFE OUTREACHES

Mobilise to Evangelise
Last week, we mobilised eight teams to make a Stand for Life at busy traffic intersections throughout the Cape peninsula. 4,500 pro-life and Evangelistic leaflets and Gospel booklets were distributed by those teams last week.
Literature Distribution
This week, we organised literature outreaches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning at the Cape Gate Okavango traffic light intersection. Each morning there were seven to nine volunteers, most of whom would distribute literature to passing motorists and others would stand holding a different Scripture banner each day. These teams this week succeeded in distributing almost 6,000 pro-life and Evangelistic tracts and World Missionary Press Gospel booklets, including, Abortion - The Facts; Considering Abortion; It’s My Body; Milestones for Early Life; Shattered Hopes! – Broken Dreams!; Help from Above; How to Love God; Way to God; Repentance Towards God and Seven Words of Love. “So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
Opposition
Overall, our teams had a very positive response from passing motorists and pedestrians. However, one person took the time to send us an email with a copy of one of our pro-life tracts, on which she had written her opinion in red marker, or lipstick, declaring: “Jesus came to set us free from Old Testament doctrine, the Law!” She demanded that we “stop spreading condemnation” and “start spreading love.” However, True love is the fulfilment of God’s Law. “The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul…” Psalm 19:7; “Therefore the Law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” Galatians 3:24.
Law and Gospel
Our Lord made it clear that He had not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfil it (Matthew 5:17-20). Our Lord actually intensified the application of God’s Law. In the Sermon on the Mount, our Lord said that to hate someone is kin to murder, to look with lust is committing adultery in the heart.
Love is Measured by Sacrifice
Love for God and love for our neighbour compels us to stand for the right to life of preborn babies, to speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves, to rescue those being led away to death, to hold back those staggering towards slaughter. Deliver those who are drawn toward death and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Surely we did not know this,’ does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” Proverbs 24:10-12
True Faith in Action
We are commanded in the Ephesians 5:11: “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” In James 1:27, we read that the Biblical definition of true religion for God is to: “to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”
