The Border war spawned many emotions. The aftermath of the intense suffering, disappointment, pain and reproach remains with us today. Therefore, it is gratifying that veteran general Shai Mulder, could walk away from it intact and in peace. He found this peace in his faith in the Almighty God. He fought and wrestled, together with others, with questions to which there were not always answers, but continued unflinchingly to believe in his heavenly Father. Today he can look back on an eventful time in history and say, 'I fought the good fight, and conquered, by grace alone.'

He dedicates this book to his wife, Elreza, and their children, his grandchildren and  soldier comrades, even though his descendants will never understand the intensity of this war. His friends will get to know him better through this book, and then, of course, there are those who experienced it all, and know!
