RETURN TO THE COVENANT

It is a joy and privilege to recommend Cuan Elgin’s latest book: Return to the Covenant. I thoroughly appreciated reading Bulala. We have a fascinating history and Cuan Elgin has a compelling and engrossing style that draws one in to the story of our courageous forefathers, their trials, tribulations, triumphs and achievements against all odds during tumultuous times. This sequel to Bulala, Return to the Covenant, has been much anticipated and eagerly looked forward to.

Karl Marx declared that the first battlefield is the rewriting of history. And, certainly, communists have been all too busy distorting and contorting history to advance their malicious agenda.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn declared: “If we do not know our own history, we will simply have to endure all the same mistakes, sacrifices and absurdities all over again.” We must learn from history, or we will repeat its mistakes.

In history, we can find encouragement to persevere, a rebuke to short-sightedness and selfishness. History can put our trials and troubles into perspective. As Cicero observed: “To be ignorant of what happened before you were born is to remain a child forever.”

History can provide us with visions of those who impacted society and examples of excellence to inspire us to courageously stand firm in spite of all opposition. We also need to learn from the mistakes of others, to benefit from the painstaking developments and sacrifices of our forefathers. George Santana noted: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” We need to learn from history and Return to the Covenant!
