About Us

Christian Liberty Books is a ministry dedicated to providing reliable and good quality Christian resources, at affordable prices.  We specialise in providing Home Education resources of a high standard of content and presentation.

Import and Publishing

Since our bookshop was launched in May 1995 under the direction of missionary pioneer and author, Dr. Peter Hammond, we have sourced and imported a wide variety of Christian textbooks to aid Home Educators and Christian schools with Christ-centred, Bible-based textbooks and audio visual resources.  We have also published a variety of unique Bible Survey, Discipleship, Christian Missions, history, pro-life, pro-family, social issues, Reformation and Revival books and audio visual boxsets.

We further stock resources on:

Biblical Studies, Biographies, Christian Living, History, Creation Science, Devotionals, Family Matters, Persecution, Missions, God and Government, Social Issues, Worldviews, Pro-life Issues and more.

Starting small with some of our own published books and steadily increasing our stock to where we are today, with over 5000 titles on our shelves. This includes over 300 DVD titles.

Why We Provide These Resources

The Great Commission is our supreme ambition.  Christ’s last command must be our first concern: Making disciples of all nations, teaching obedience to all things Christ has commanded us.

We all know that education has become a battleground.  Anyone who believes that education can be neutral is mistaken.  All ideas have consequences. Actions flow from thought patterns.

All education is inherently religious, because it presents a certain perspective and selection of history, values and practices and it prescribes a worldview.  "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ." Colossians 2:8.

Why Do We Provide Resources for Home Education

Textbooks are often the result of the work of committees, and frequently by people who have no first-hand knowledge of the subjects they are dealing with. In all too many cases, secular humanist textbooks have been used as sources by well-meaning Christians, who present the same selection of events and personalities. All too often they give the same explanations, while adding a Bible verse, or a spiritual slant to the final paragraph of what otherwise mirrors the same distortion of history that the government schools are giving.

How Can We Discern What is True?

This leads to the next question of: "How can we know what is true?"  A well-informed History teacher once warned: "Beware the victor's version!"  We should always ask “Why?”  We should never simply accept the official version and should never take textbooks for granted.  Double check your sources. Research.  Investigate evidence.  Identify trustworthy sources. Cross-check references.  Where is the hard physical evidence?  Have forensics been done?Do the numbers add up?  What is the fruit?

Encouraging Critical Thinking

Christian Liberty Books tries to only stock reliable resources from trustworthy sources, but we still encourage critical thinking – whether it is History, Social Issues, Biblical Studies, Creation Science, Family Matters, or any other topic.

Depth and Perspective

The longer you look back, the further you can look forward. A tall building needs deep foundations and a tall tree needs a deep and intricate root system. In order to understand who we are, we need to understand where we came from, to understand the events and issues of the past that correspond with our challenges today.

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32
